  • Washington State Board of Education

    The State Board of Education is expected to adopt CORE 24, a new initiative to strengthen high school graduation requirements and ensure students are prepared for college, job training and the workforce, at their July 23rd meeting in Vancouver.  CORE 24 would increase the number of credits needed to graduate and allow students to choose three graduation pathways based on their plans after high school.

Report: Reading First Impact Study

This preliminary study found that, on average, children in Reading First programs are not reading any better than those who are not. The final report on Reading First is due in 2009 and will include an additional year of data.
